Millwright Local 1592 was founded on August 2nd, 1956. We are a group of skilled craftspeople belonging to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC Millwrights). We are partnered with Signatory Contractors who employ our members to install, repair and maintain machinery and equipment in a vast variety of industries.
Millwright Local 1592 is one if eight Millwright Locals in Ontario. Together all eight Locals form the Millwright Regional Council of Ontario. Local 1592 is located in Sarnia, Ontario and services Lambton, Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Huron, Perth and Bruce Counties.

Local 1592 millwrights are professionals who have exceptional skills to work primarily with machinery and equipment requiring precision. Our millwrights install, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment such as compressors, pumps, conveyors, gas and steam turbines, monorails, and extruders.
"PRECISION AND PRODUCTIVITY" is the standard work product delivered by our millwrights every day. Our members participate in training and skill-enhancement courses to become more efficient in the use of tools and instruments that they must master. A keen eye for the perfect fit is a primary asset for millwrights, having to work with specifications requiring tolerances to a thousandth of an inch.
1592 MILLWRIGHTS can be found performing critical work at gas, nuclear, and alternative-energy power plants. Their skills are also vital in industries as diverse as automotive, aerospace, food processing, lumber, pulp and paper, material handling, mining, petrochemical, steel and alloys, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical construction.
